Created by the Brazilian designer Paulo Mendes da Rocha, winner of the 2006 Pritzker Architecture Prize, the Paulistano armchair is regarded as a legendary object of contemporary design.

Here, the Paulistano is available in an all stainless steel version, with a base made from a single folded steel bar and a chain mail cover that seems to float while filtering light through a beautiful play of transparency.

As well as its absolutely remarkable aesthetic appeal, its wide, comfortable seat makes it a favourite everyday item for relaxing moments.

The Paulistano armchair is part of the permanent collection of objects on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMa).
